Paper.li vs. Scoop.it – online content managed by you

What the difference between Paper.il and Scoop.it??

UnknownUnknown-1

Scoop.it  helps marketers, consultants, and entrepreneurs increase their visibility online, enabling professionals to share important ideas with the right people. First you decide on a topic of interest, then set Scoop.it to scan the web finding the best content on this topic. Then you select which content to scoop, and even edit if you like. You can also grab things you find on the web. It’s a fabulous outbound content generator.

Paper.il is a newspaper designed by you, it pulls content from the web based on what you told it to scan from. First you set up your paper by telling Paper.il to scan from blogs, twitter feeds, keywords, etc. Then you schedule when the paper will be published daily, or weekly, and invite people to subscribe. You can also have it automatically tweet out, or even embed on your website. It’s more of an inbound content generator.

Evernote – Online Notebook

logo

I just downloaded Evernote today. Evernote makes it easy to remember things  from your everyday life using your computer, phone, tablet and the web. Put everything in one place – your notes, images, documents, web clips and audio notes. Find what you’re looking for using our powerful search. Sync makes your notes accessible across your devices.

Evernote also has another cool app called  Skitch

hero_skitch You can add arrows and circles to really get your point across with fewer words so that your ideas become reality faster. Use existing photos OR capture a screen shoot and then add the annotations. See my example below I made when I was writing this post. Good for presentations or even twitter photos.

Evernote and Skitch are clearly teasers for their paid aps but non the less, cool free tools! Anyone tried these out??

Lucky Orange – Learn how your visitors are using your site

logo

Lucky Orange. It allows you to watch activity on your site in real time and play back people’s sessions. It has maps so you can see where people are engaging with your pages, it also has chats. You can proactively chat with someone who is on a page and let them know you are there to help or people can reach out to you directly when you have chat online.

I haven’t signed up but it seems much better than Google Analytics plus you get the chat features. It’s pretty inexpensive the lowest price being $10 a month for up to 3 websites.

Easelly you can create and share visual ideas online themes are visual themes. Drag and drop a theme onto your canvas for easy creation of your visual idea! The image is the new headline. You have mere seconds to grab the attention of your prospects in the overcrowded social sphere, and one of the best ways to do this is by adding a compelling visual to your blog post.

Sure, you can go to Google Images and choose a funny cat or piece of bacon to grab attention, but why not get a bit more creative and create your very own custom illustration or mini-infographic?

Some examples below:

Gui.de – turns web into tv

logo
Gui.de takes everything you love about the internet, smart devices and TV and blended it together. You can choose a pet, person, robot, or even a pink haired dog to read you your twitter feed, or your favourite blogs. It’s still in beta testing but it will be interesting to see where this goes, and how well it works. I love the idea of someone reading to me, and turning ny favourite blogs into a personal TV show, but I’m not sure about the robot voice. What do you think?
